[U/C] Re: GPO Exchange | 85m | 22 Levels | Office

The best thing about this building and the forthcoming Westin is that, even though they're not great buildings, they help to block out a collection of worse buildings in the view from Vic Square. Especially City Central Tower 2 (or Ernst & Young building - EY is surely the worst rebrand ever).

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

I mean the white could unify the ramshackle of unattractive 80s buildings, but I walked past again later today and saw the outlines of a purple (the school colour) ribbon stretching across the fencing. So a mural it appears set to become. The lot I've seen working on it were early-to-mid 20s kids wh...

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

Minor works, but large impression: since last week, St Aloysius College has been painting white its block (from Angas to Wakefield St) of 80s red & blonde brick buildings. Not sure if white is a base for a mural or further works, but it casts a very different feel on surrounding streets.

[COM] Re: 27-31 Angas Street | 103m | 30 Levels | Kodo Apartments

Regarding blank concrete walls, which are usually the consequence of a building abutting a property boundary, this isn’t the developers fault; but a failure of the Council’s own development plan which permits blank concrete walls. If the development plan was amended so it prohibits blank concrete w...

You salivate? I think yuck.

And btw, heritage is not only about architecture or things that 'look good'.

What about lot14?
I honestly don't expect anything to happen there (crane wise) until 2021 or later, given the council still has to announce preferred partner, go to tender, and sell whatever tenancies or residences it will contain.

Yes already been a core rise to level 2 or 3. i'd think this weekend it will go up. North terrace was waiting on approval for new design which is expected tomorrow. I'd think it will start next month. There is also the student accom on waymouth starting and Adelaide Oval hotel. I would think unless...

Is it school holidays or something? This isn't a playground, don't pick on fellow forumers - especially over nothing. Ignore and move along. Back to topic, what's the next crane due to go up? I guess Wakefield Street given the base is laid, but I wonder how far off the student tower on North Tce is?...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Given that the tramline will be out of action for three weeks in the CBD and down to the Entertainment Centre, will the government take the opportunity to grind out the noisy corrugations that have developed, and weld up the wear the Citadis have caused on various curves. It would seem to be the pe...

The level 21 community 'break out' space should be visible soon - it'll define the break between hotel levels and private apartments.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

This is all subjective. None of us has any real clue how it'd play out, but the fact that 35,000 people have signed a petition in less than 24 hours based on nothing more than a NewsCorp beat up suggests the well of opposition runs deep. It'll get much louder if it were seriously threatened (especia...

Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs

Fantastic news! Restaurants have proven successful in similar buildings around the world and it's nice to have another pre show or pre game option. Most importantly, it's great to see some of the grandeur of the station concourse restored. Personally, I'd love to see the Marble Hall/waiting lobby re...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I'm sure it's just a little bit of sensationalism from NewsCorp, although admittedly now repeated across the ABC and InDaily. There'd be protests of a scale we haven't seen for decades if the Thebby seriously came under threat. That alone probably guarantees a tunnel through the area concerned.
