[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I think there are some good points in that piece (never thought I would say that about an Advertiser article). Personally, I wouldn't mind having to pay for tolls if we do get some decent infrastructure out of it and country roads are also upgraded, not just in the metro area. I do find it curious t...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

re. the "loop", I'm just shocked that the transport department has actually thought ahead for once and basically created a special service for a big event. It doesn't happen that much these days...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

The Harbours Building development is a breath of fresh air. Finally a developer that wants to maintain and celebrate a buildings original features. Can't wait to see the 1970's inspired interior. I love this era and have always said it never goes out of a fashion.

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I'm sure I saw a photo / read something on one of their updates stating that this building would be most likely kept and re-used. It might sound strange but I think at the very least The Chapel should be kept as the interior is quite unique. A lot of these buildings that are being demolished at the ...

I thought they were keeping the Residential Wing (the former Nurses Building at the rear of the site which is sort of shaped like a V)?

[SWP] Re: 69-71 Light Square | ~55m | 14lvls | Residential

Personally I think the "raw / unfinished" look on any building is disgusting. That development on Whitmore Square to me has always looked unfinished and almost "third world-ish" in comparison to older and well finished buildings. It just looks cheap and nasty and the less we have of this the better....

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I'm all for this development as its basically just building on already vacant land but why is everything 2 - 3 levels only? Wouldn't a mix of shorter and taller apartments have been a better use of the space or are they hoping to not have a repeat of the slums that Newport has ended up being across ...

I like a lot of these designs but the location is wrong. A lot of them would look great in the southern half of Vic Sq where the old tram terminus used to be.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

Noticed on my way to work this morning that the former rug shop the builders were using as a depot has been cleared out and the fences removed on the corner of South and Grange Roads. I wonder what will happen with this building now with all its smashed windows and graffiti...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

It did always puzzle me why they tried to turn the Grenfell Centre into an upmarket Hugo Boss store. It seemed very out of place. Hopefully they can move into the mall and the new Suncorp office seems more fit for purpose.

I hope so. To have large vacant blocks of land in the middle of a capital city is a bit embarrassing especially since its on the main street.

[U/C] Re: GPO Exchange | 85m | 22 Levels | Office

I might go a bit opposite to the grain here also and say this building is quite underwhelming. It doesn't look that much different to the building to the left of it or the building behind it (ANZ). Given its such a prominent location, it seem to me (and this is just my opinion) that the architects h...
