Re: The SA Politics Thread

Well we really got a glimpse of the importance of SA in the budget.

The biggest infrastructure item a Hahndorf beautification program.

I like Hahndorf, but bloody hell

Hopefully whichever one wins, it's on architectural merit, not government interference Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk It's a government contract, so I don't know how you'd limit 'interference'. And I'm not sure architectural merit is a leading concern for Services Australia. For my own, I'd r...

I was wondering that too. I got HFC just before COVID, sitting at 50mbs and never had an issue really.

I would say, going faster is simply cost prohibitive for me.

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

I personally hate what they’ve done to that square. One developer should not be allowed to develop so much land in the one space individually without having a cohesive precinct plan approved. They offer poor architectural form, poor amenity (go to an open and see if you could fit a mattress in the ...

Yes it was.

I thinking calling this picking winners is stretch too.

Sure SMA is unaccountable but it's still a good project and looking around the world it's worked in other places. So there is no reason why this won't.

It's not meant to be exclusive for sports teams all the time, I mean they're already going to struggle massively to make a profit so why would they shoot themselves in the foot extra hard by turning away any paying customers, but I'd wager it will be when the Indian Cricket Team hits town whether t...

Yes I feel so much better now. I can see how it is relevant in a development forum [emoji849] Sent from my SM-J730G using Tapatalk It’s relevant because if the building sits undeveloped and empty, it increases the likelihood of antisocial behaviour occurring there. Also, buildings don’t exist in a ...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy

What background or knowledge does Corey have in transport systems and planning? Absolutely zero. A minister shouldn't need to, instead relying on the expertise and advice of senior apolitical public servants within their portfolio to inform their decision making. Out here in the real world though :...

I can't believe how bad it looks from Dequitivlle Terrace either.

Re: News & Discussion: Other Transport Projects

I have no doubt that the Murray Bridge - Annadale roads need upgrading to support heavy vehicle traffic which is already permitted on the route, and it is sometimes the designated detour under major disruptions. I have doubts about these upgrades being significant enough to change the route of many...

North-South tunnels ‘to cost $11bn’ SEE THE VIDEO Tunnels along South Rd to finish the North-South Corridor would cost $11 billion, the construction industry says, and should be dumped. “This is Adelaide, not New York,” they say. Re: SA Economy

You can see why SA has been in decline for so long.

Their big ideas are either tax us less or do what every one else would be trying to do.

Although I like Mr Reades thoughts on getting into Mount Gambier and Whyalla.
