Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The other problem is, its an election year next year and the State Government is focused on that Globelink plan.

My bet, the funds will be redistributed to that.

Re: Beer Garden

To be fair, i know of a few businesses that lost 75 - 80% of their turnover once t2 started. I know its easy to blame poor management, but these big infrastructure works can impact local businesses. And from all reports, not enough effort was made to assist businesses during this period. I don't thi...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

So the battery sudsidy is only applied to "South Australian manufactured" products? Is this the incentive (or government handout) for Sonnen to setup in Adelaide? Its a real tragedy that connection to a virtual power grid is not obligatory... this could lead to a situation where thousands of batter...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

In today's Sunday Mail a report on tenders for 400 new buses to replace ageing buses Transport Minister Stefan Knoll stated that plans for trams to North Adelaide had been scrapped. Wait up, wasn't a major policy the Liberals took to the election the establishment of an 'Infrastructure SA' to asses...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

I don’t want to get in a political debate but just curious on the forums thoughts on the state Lib govt so far. Obviously it’s too short a time period to pass any real judgement as it’s just 1/8 into their term. Most notable to me though is the lack of announcements though. Some may see this as a g...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

^^I didn't see 80% of that in the budget papers :? It was from AdelaideNow. A little birdy told me they may want to privatize TafeSA in the very near future. :secret: ServiceSA and a few other departments like the housing sa will likely be privatized as well. Labor already privatized the Land Title...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

reading between the lines of what political scribes have been talking about (Mike Smithson et al) the Libs have been targeting what they considered Labor jobs for mates.

Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but in this instance I don't even know the repercussions,

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

$600,000 for yet another business study on the city loop? How many have been done so far and what justifies another? Wish they just bite the bullet and put that money towards detailed plans. I guess they haven't done it on theirs. We have two options I guess, their loop or their North Adelaide Exte...

I thought it was more the point that why do they invest in making it look better when commercial investors don't.

I'm happy that it looks great, i hope more developers take note.
