[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

The whole area needs to be looked at as one precinct not as individual projects. From Montefiore Road to Pennington Tce to Frome Road/War Memorial Drive on the eastern side and to the southern side of the Torrens- elder park & the boat house and restaraunt, and Torrens Parade Ground. On the one side...

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

There's plenty of room at Memorial Drive for a new indoor arena. People just need to think beyond demolishing an old stadium and rebuilding on top of it. Next Gen Gym, the outdoor courts next to it. They can all be demolished, and a new indoor arena built there. There's nothing saying that War Memor...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

United Airlines has released new routes, and has overlooked Adelaide. So no direct flights to the US yet. Labor gov. were in talks with them, who knows what if anything the new Lib. gov did. What combinations of US airport and aircraft can handle a fully-laden trip to Adelaide without a fuel stop o...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

There are only about 6 buildings left to demolish from Pym St to Regency Rd including 2 sets of shops so all the demo should be finished soon. There are signs saying night works commence 26 August so hopefully they are getting straight into it. There was night works last night. Not sure what it was...

Southbank 356m & 252m $2 billion

$2 billion development by Beulah International has been lodged over in Melbourne now with the government. Design by UNStudio and COX. The taller of the two towers, an apartment skyscraper, will rise to an eye-watering 356.2 metres under the proposal, making it the tallest tower in the Southern Hemis...

The red brick on the ground level might turn out ok. But otherwise a complete lack of imagination.

Re: SA Economy

667,394 apartments/flats/units have been built in Australia since the year 2000. 140,000 more in the pipeline. Bit of a surprise that despite the huge population growth in Victoria and their massive building boom, that NSW still has had more built in the last two decades. No surprise that SA is not ...

... My opinion, theyll build a trench for most of it, and a couple short tunnels in some areas where its too sensitive to demolish heritage listed buildings..like Thebby where the opposite side is a school. That was the plan for the middle bit, with Superway-style past Castle Plaza in the original ...

Apparently theres talk of renovating or rebuilding the netball stadium. Here comes another wasted opportunity and more money wasted. Isnt the government doing a stadium review or something? They should be, together with basketball and tennis sitting down and coming up with a plan to present to gover...

Something useful from the ABC for a change.. Flamable cladding audit has been underway in SA since 2017. Adelaide Oval, nRAH and convention centre are some of buildings identified so far. Convention Centre was confirmed last year. Whats been done? Jack shit. MFS are worried, want the materials teste...

I agree with your last sentence. They should get on with it. We get photos of Koutsantonis standing with his arms crossed in front of his favourite building. Labor said it would be built in 4 years, but if that could have been the case, the planning would have started. We'd have their members crowi...
