Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

According to DPTI website The electrification of Gawler Line is due in late 2020, isn't that slow compared to when poles and wires went up on Seaford and Tonsley Lines. And then we aren't due to have the first electric set until mid 2021. Sounds like the current State Government is dragging it out ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

If Sealink did get to run the trams they could run the 248 as a feeder between Marion Centre and Plympton Tram Stop. Kilometres saved by not running 248s between Plympton Tram Stop and City could be used elsewhere to run short running of the 100 between Plympton and Arndale or between Plympton and G...

[COM] Re: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m

I prefer the central roadway in its former setup as it meant pedestrians could cross within the square at 3 points, also buses actually stopping in the actual central roadway meant people could transfer from bus to tram or get off in the actual square rather than set down on the edge of it.

[COM] Re: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m

A handful of changes I'd like to see for Victoria Square area include: 1) Access to central roadway for buses only. Existing bus lane in central part returned to green space. 2) Move 222-229 bus terminus to F1 Wakefield Street or on south side of Wakefield Street. Replace south east roadway with gre...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

More bus-train interchanges would be ideal. On the Gawler Line for example, an interchange at Islington could absorb a majority of citybound passengers on Churchill Road and Main North Road buses. Passengers continue into town via more epace-efficient trains, while that now-empty bus goes back out ...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

On the topic of local traffic flows following opening of the NC, there's this idea. It would have formed a kind of ring road connecting Adelaide's north with the eastern suburbs. Down the bottom is the idea of following the MATS Plan's Dry Creek Expressway corridor, by connecting the Salisbury High...

can't see this happening for another 30 years minimum. once the NS motorway is complete all the trucks coming off the SE freeway will go straight down cross road. no point them going onto portrush road. then we'll have the next major bottleneck especially at the Belair line crossing. make yourself ...

Can imagine cars banked up on Bolivar offramp if the traffic light at Bolivar has a short green light especially during afternoon peak. Whites Road should be extended, then over or under Port Wakefield Road, then a interchange at the Northern Connector. Burton Road (north) and Burton Road (south) sh...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

A train service to Mount Barker would be good. It could mean less buses are required, freeing up buses that could be used elsewhere in the hills i.e. the 834, 837.
