Interesting that the Advertiser's reporting of the inquiry is almost entirely focused on F&B pricing, with an "oh, the hotel will help keep those prices down" bit at the end.
Lowest common denominator is the Advertiser's specialty

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

I think this building was originally designed to be about 9 stories but was cut back simply to get planning approval. A couple of other buildings in this area have added extra floors since being built. The Adelaide Riviera was am abandoned office building before having 2 floors added and being conv...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Adelaide airport pty ltd and the state government must be disappointed with the lack of interest from international airlines. If you look at how many international airlines there are flying to Perth it really is embarrassing how Adelaide has struggled in this area in recent times. Air Asia pulled o...

The core slip form is being removed. It will be interesting to see what happens here, from my "counting from a distance" there should still be two more rises plus plant room. Let's see what happens. I thought in the new plans the core room is swallowed by the two additional floors on the north side...

Segment on 9 news tomorrow about realm and adelaidean race to the top.
By my count, the core of Adelaidean can't have more than 3 to go before top out. Race is done and dusted.

I didn’t realize this was a Hines proposal. It will almost certainly go ahead then I would think. From AdelaideNow snip Strange, but when articles from the news network are on news.com.au they often have headlines that don't match the content at all. On the news site the headline was something like...

You have to wonder at the stupidity of the neighbouring owner. For the expense of a 7m wide 460 sqm block they could have turned their own huge parcel into a corner block worth a goldmine. Now they're hemmed in by the same sort of concrete wall that Ivan Milat was staring at for 20 years.

Moderators - perhaps it's time for a separate "greening" thread - a few of us on here have contributed opinions on trees, etc. that might be better off alone? Just a thought. There's a thread Id be up for. I spend my off days regreening a former communist backwater in central Europe one plant at a ...

Yep, 60's and 70's has a lot to answer for.

Was the building on the left I think?
Win some lose some in this pic. Whatever is to the right of the Edmund Wright building gave way to the CML building.

Not yet. Second proposal advertised this week without a da. Might be a new trend. Not going through the process unless they have enough interest.
As a buyer, this is as big a red flag as they come.

Drove past this site today and there was a big sign advertising this development. No da has been lodged however. Corner pirie and Frome.

Is this the site of the RSB building? If so, not too happy because it's a nice building.
