Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

As a former driver I'll gladly say that greeting the driver and thanking when alighting is the done thing in Adelaide. I'll also say that in the course of your 6-14 hour shift you'll meet the widest range of people possible. Every day you'll meet a top person but you'll also get genuinely ripped to ...

"A gym/basketball/netball court above classrooms .... with the highest level of acoustic flooring." Does anyone on the forum have any experience or knowledge of a comparable project/s to show that it can work/be soundproof/shudder proof? Not even close to comparable, but was watching a doco recentl...

I was thinking the Politburo was behind it. You'd be surprised what a communist building "is" to people who lived under communism, and also what those communist buildings have become. To my partner (who grew up under communism), communist building mean tall building. It's not the aesthetic, it's th...

Hahaha, voice recognition...... not sure we should get quite that paranoid yet, although sometimes I wonder  I did think it's more likely targeting me because of my clicking on/liking/ and or commenting on things regularly on the Sen Adel page :? It's time to get paranoid. I brought my partner...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

I'm not acting in defence of freeways, but if I can just give some historical context, it was actually railways that encouraged urban sprawl. Some research into how London (and locally - Melbourne) rapidly spread out in the 1850s through to the early 20th century by virtue of railways being extende...

As a former driver from about 10 years back, I'm not at all impressed with the shallow grade of the track. Not impressed at all.

Think you may be talking about Latitude, the office building at World Square. The core was sticking out of the ground for a good decade before it was revived.

[PRO] Re: 262-269 North Terrace | ~115m | 34 Levels | student accommodation

I get that the uni is literally across the road, but surely such a prominent corner is not the place for student accommodation. I'd have thought the land value alone would have killed such an idea, especially when students appear happy to live on off streets and laneways. In what world is a plot ov...
