Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

QT are a great brand/hotel but I doubt it will be a “new” hotel building. They extensively re-design/refurbish existing hotels/theatres/cinemas. See list below. There is a strong connection with Rydges (Event owns them) and I know Rydges - South Tce cnr West Tce was on the market. This could be the ...

Hopefully the drag strip and everything else will be done by then & they could combine it with the Le Mans event. It could become a great racing weekend ideal for summer night events.

[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

If the CBA offer was accepted for 70% of the value of the loan then the govt would only need to lend the remaining 30% ie $12.6m vs the whole $42m. Not sure why this isn’t considered or still an option?

Yes I thought so but do you expect it will all be lit up outside the track at night ie for spectators?

Is the DTPI told what funding it gets/what projects are funded from InfrastructureSA (supposedly independent body) or from the Govt?

[COM] Re: The Bend Motorsport Park

They’ve just announced a 2 day Le Mans endurance race on 10-12 Jan 20. So does that mean the circuit will be lit up at night or do they only use their car headlights? It would be great if it was a night event for drivers & spectators like the Singaporean Night F1 Grand Prix.

[APP] Re: 73-85 Pirie Street | 89m | 22 Levels | Office

The article also says “Construction of the 83 Pirie tower will kick off once the developer has secured a sufficient pre-commitment.” So now it’s up to the market if/when it happens. These 30,000 sqm new A Grade offices will be competing against other new proposed A grade buildings like Festival Towe...

Exactly. The T2T took maybe 20-30 years of talk prior to actually funding & doing it. Here’s the scoop bits, we don’t have enough money.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

The suggestion or use of a toll is not about sending the right or wrong message it’s about funding and looking at all options to raise the $5bn + needed. I mean sure we can wait for Govt to do it with no tolls and also to “send the right message” but if that takes 10+ years and we are left paying sa...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

The question is if a toll operator funds these proposed tunnels [the last $5bn] would they accept only a toll on this section or would they want tolls on the whole 78km Motorway to help pay for it quicker? I think if its a toll only on the tunnels its acceptable as people will still have a choice to...

All good points. Do you think if it was just to AO [ie 1km] even with bridge re-enforcement needed could it be done by next Oct? And no need for any new trams?

[COM] Re: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m

While I am all for a an upgrade when I saw the TDU Village [and other events] they need largely just a blank open space/grassed area for all the marquees etc. The original plan was pretty involved [see post #1629 above] with things like water features, native gardens, toilets, kiosk etc etc. What do...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

If they did this as two separate projects ie 2 x 5 - 6 km tunnels, how long would a 5-6 km tunnel take to build? Are my thoughts of 2 years realistic? I know it's unlikely but if a magical $5bn appeared by the end 2021?
