Event group have put a hold to all developments.
I dare say this will be the first of a few for Adelaide. It's a shame, though, I see this section of Currie Street really in need of some rejuvenation through these kinds of developments.

[U/C] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

I'm sorry, but how on earth did the MCG make it to the top of that list? The venue is awful, both in terms of facilities and atmosphere. And not to mention the pitch is terrible. What moron at Foxtel came up with that?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

This is a contract by the airport for on-ground transport, not the state government contracting buses to the airport. Completely different things. I realise this, but read my original comment. With this announcement from the AAL, how long before the state government see an opportunity to free up th...

This must have a chance of being delayed or cancelled right now? With travel bans now in effect it might take years for international student numbers to recover. Whats your reasoning for that? Are you expecting current world issue to take that long or are you expecting a large number of those stude...

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

Drove the Connector late last night... It's an impressive bit of infrastructure. However, few criticisms; this seemingly newer design of the exit lanes seems uncomfortably short and not very seamless (think a designated turning lane at an intersection with a slip lane attached), as opposed to those ...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

This is a new design. The article mentions other concept images; were they available on the website? Also, it's down from 27 to 23 storeys which is better but still too tall IMO (especially while the design remains seemingly unsympathetic to its surrounds). The timelines for completion are laughabl...

Get lost, Skybus. A good service for Melbourne but ridiculously overpriced.
SkyBus and the taxi industry has literally been the bane of trying to get airport rail up and running in Melbourne.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

And now we wait for the state government to hand over city-to-airport bus operations to SkyBus which will see a complete downturn in the use of the service and kill any plans for light rail to the airport.

You missed the point of the question. Apart from the helipad, is the building out of place for the area?
And you disregarded my response: yes, it is.

this building is completely out of place for this site Apart from the helipad is it out of place? There are enough 7-8 story developments happening in and around The Parade now to justify the opposite opinion. Not on that side of Portrush Road there isn't, and there's not likely to ever be in the f...

[APP] Re: Peregrine HQ | 38m | 8 levels | Kensington

I stand by what I said five or six pages back, this building is completely out of place for this site and would be much better suited on the site of the Pulteney Street OTR, they could have their height, have better chance of getting their beloved helipad and if they're separate to keep an OTR in th...

[U/C] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

Patrick_27 , is there a reason why you left out Perth (Optus) Stadium? Yep, two reasons. First (and the same reason that I left out Marvel Stadium and AAMI Park), Optus Stadium is not one of the main cricket grounds in Australia (it's a football stadium with major cricket events held there). Second...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

I agree that the Overland is not working, but it's typical of our state government to be so short sighted and cut funding rather than invest a little to make a better service out of it. I think moving it to ARS is a necessary move, to remind travellers that the service exists; stop pretending that i...
