Re: Glenelg | Developments & News

From the Advertiser. It talks about developments spanning all the western suburbs, but we don't have a thread for this. I have to say I prefer the new design. To me it looks neater and emphasises the verticality of the building.

[U/C] Re: New Calvary Hospital | 60m | 12 lvls | Cnr Angas/Pulteney

As others have said it's funny that one of Adelaide's best looking buildings is going to be a hospital. I really enjoy seeing this building - even half built - from pretty much any angle you approach it. It's also very visible as you drive towards the city down Unley Rd which is pretty nice too. I ...

[PRO] Re: 98-100 North Terrace | 52m | 14 Levels | Quest Hotel

One of the reasons I dislike the City Central development is that all the buildings are roughly the same size and look very similar. This creates an uninspiring, monolithic form which is dreary to the eye. The same thing will happen on this stretch of North Terrace, if this building is built. To hav...

Re: Anzac Highway Developments

Was driving down Anzac highway earlier today. There is a vacant block on the corner with Beckman Street at Glandore, whereby the previous 1 level building has been demolished, and a banner has been erected on the fencing around the site. Although driving, I glimpsed that it included an image of a 8...

In further evidence this development is dead, the old Trims site as well as the former display suite are now "for lease"

Wow that is ugly. Too much emphasis placed on the horizontal. Makes the building look really squat and boxy. Hope it never gets built.

Received an email from the developer saying that the display centre will close “within a few weeks” to allow for demolition. Furthermore, they mentioned that the display centre will soon be moving to 96 Currie Street.
