Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

The hungry jacks store is to come before ACC on Monday where they are expected to approve it. it looks tiny with only 16 seats. You can look at the plans here: http://ncapps.adelaidecitycouncil.com/agendasminutes/files08/Agendas/DAP/2013/2013_08_19DAP_Item_3.2_-_Attachments.pdf Not overly surprised...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

HJ's was on the opposite side to maccas and was 2 levels. I remeber as a kid eating on the balcony next to timezone. I think the 90's in Adelaide were so much better then present :( oh the memories .. Agree 100% Wasn't there a HJ's at Glenelg as well, at one point? There was - closed about 10 years...

Re: Islington | Developments & News

Palm Gardens was going to be mainly housing I believe. And about time they made that section of Churchill two lanes. All of Churchill Rd should be two lanes IMO. Only in Adelaide could a fair chunk of an 'arterial road' be single lane (most of Churchill Rd south of Regency Rd is single lane as well...

I think Harris Scarfe need to know who they're targeting first - they don't know if they're a discount variety store (like a Kmart/Big W) or high end department store (like a Myer/David Jones). They're been trying to act like a high end store with discount variety store products. That's exactly wha...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Again, a very impressive place. The size is far bigger than I thought, and well put together - strong continuity, but not a solid structure like the Gabba. Breaks add interest. North side also adds significantly to the uniqueness of AO. :D :D BTW - Will AO remain the name or will this get changed? ...

I must say not overly surprised - I am by no means a mall design or tenant expert but I think as I previously posted, the mall is a large open breezeway, the tenancy mix is all wrong Coles and HS really don't go with the high end fashion mix - I am a little confused by Adelaide's addiction to Basem...

[COM] Re: U/C: South Road Superway | $842m | 3km

But that would be exactly the point, seeing as the two ends are envisioned to eventually be linked together, so I can understand it being given an M2 designation for that reason. Mind you, it doesn't explain the M20 (I know it was designated M20, because Main North Road is A20) designation for the ...

So I drove through again tonight (access Northbound only reached GJR, where I was forced to turn left (West) and do a U-turn to head East). Approaching GJR, One of the previously covered overhead gantries had been uncovered, and it showed a warning message (through rotating sign portions, not LED d...

Re: Islington | Developments & News

Yes this is North of Bunnings. Haven't heard anything for the South, but my guess with this new development would be residential down there, if it has/can get the right zoning. Years ago there was supposed to be a shopping centre built south of Bunnings (think it's name was going to be Palm Gardens...

Adelaide Oval is going to be great for cricket. I can see why some early games this season have to be transferred to another venue until the stadium is completed. BUT... Why have ALL the one day RyobiCup matches this season been transferred to Sydney? Why should every state's matches be played in O...
