It's quite possible that the road itself was a test of the paint.

[PRO] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

Definitely will be. I can't imagine many planning disasters more worth of condemnation than a parking lot in the parklands, but in this case I honestly think it's fine. This is undeniably the best spot for a new Women's and Children's hospital, and a facility like that needs close parking. It's also...

[PRO] Re: 36 Grote Street | 119m | 33 levels | apartments

People commented about the cost, suggesting it might be a typo. I suggested another possibility. Oh, so you legit think this tower could possibly be built for $25 million? You really think that's possible? Why don't you tell us, through all your infinite wisdom, how much you think this is going to ...

$25 mil? Probably 100% cheap nasty made in China building products from slave labor. What’s with your obsession with China People commented about the cost, suggesting it might be a typo. Is there any chance the council would object to that lane widening? Unless the ACC is expected to spend a lot of money on it seems like not a bad deal.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

My sense is the tunnels are largely catering for people or freight travelling longer distances. Someone in the southern section that wants to go to Castle Plaza will still use the surface road, likewise people living along the northern section travelling to Brickworks will still use the surface roa...

Someone who wants to travel from eastern Munno Para/Blakeview/Craigmore/Elizabeth Downs has to change buses at the Munno Para Shopping City or Smithfield railway station to get to western Munno Para/Munno Para West/Smithfield Plains/Andrews Farm/Davoren Park. Two things spring to mind here: 1. Thes...

I prefer the curve at ground level for something interesting, but I do like the brick of the amended because of how well it will tie into the Central Markets redevelopment across the street. Love that we can get a proposal like this now that isn't just met with excitement for its height being tall b...

Re: 269 North Terrace | 119m | 36 Levels | Student accommodation

Yeah, this discussion is way off topic for this thread.

For my 2 cents though, any solution which just involves moving people along isn't a solution at all. If the ways in which our society continues to fail are going to be visible, it's also apt that it is visible right next to state parliament.

Daniel Gannon, SA executive director of the Property Council of Australia, said Adelaide’s recognition was “hardly a surprise”, and the state should now focus on the future. “Throughout the pandemic our state has built a new reputation focused on resilience, safety and wellbeing, which is leading t...

I'd rather live in a city with ugly buildings and an active street life than a pretty city with noone around. This. Obviously we should be aiming for both, but the best way to get a city with beautiful iconic buildings from private developers is to have the city be a high value in demand location.

I think the anger is justified. It’s definitely one of the worst developments in Adelaide. It also doesn’t help that the person who is in charge of this development avoids calls. Dodgy. From a PR perspective avoid the calls is the right thing to do. Nothing the developer says is going to persuade a...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Yeah the carparks would have to go......no great loss in such important commercial streets. And I did mention delivery vehicles......I am not trying to reinvent the wheel.....Rundle Mall has been car free since 1976. It's a great loss in that if you are entirely removing access to a bunch of locati...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

No private cars in the transit mall just buses, delivery vehicles and taxis. (Ubers would have to use other streets given the difficulties if verification) That's an ok plan if rebuilding the city, but there are multiple car parks and businesses along Currie/Grenfell that need private vehicle acces...
